Zeppelin
DAY 1: 6-Course Contemporary American Dinner Series
This early 1900s-themed restaurant and bar in South End with its sleek industrial interior opened in December 2017, and now, just a hair over two years later, Charlotte Magazine has named it “One of the 50 Best Restaurants in Charlotte: 2020.” The seasonal menu ranges from inventive small plates, like Korean-inspired calamari, barbecue roasted octopus, and chopped North Carolina collards with smoked cheddar, sweet potatoes, and candied cashews to larger plates, like Brunswick stew, fried chicken, and beef and pork cheek burger. Leave room too for the Krispy Kreme bread pudding, should Executive Chef Vince Giancarlo decide to feature it on our exclusive curated menu. Chef Giancarlo, whose impressive resume includes stints at Aquavina, Cantina 1511 and BAKU as well as six months working at the two Michelin-starred French restaurant Melisse in Santa Monica, will be on hand to take your questions and share food lore when we move into Zeppelin for the evening.
About the Host:
Vince Giancarlo
Executive Chef & Co-Owner
Chef Giancarlo, a graduate of Charlotte's Johnson & Wales University, first cut his teeth at Charlotte's Aquavina Contemporary Seafood, working his way up to Executive Chef by the age of 21. He honed his craft leading the kitchens of Cantina 1511, Frank Scibelli’s Mama Ricotta’s, and BAKU, while taking inspiration from his time at the Michelin-starred Melisse in Santa Monica, CA.
