Day 1: 5-Course Pan-African Oasis Tasting Series

Opened a year ago this July, this buzzy eatery near Piedmont Park immediately jumped onto Infatuation’s “Best New Restaurants in Atlanta” List. Executive Chef Jean-Louis Sangare hails from the Ivory Coast and pursued his culinary education in Paris. For fifteen years, he held the esteemed position of Chef de Cuisine at the original Bilboquet NY before heading to The Big A. At Verdure, he is delighting diners with starters like charred okra and fried octopus and mains like Zanzibar roasted lamb chops, Senegalese chicken yassa with mustard sauce, caramelized onions, and olives, and Afriki red snapper filet with capers, onions, and basil. Make sure to leave room as well for desserts like tigernut crème brûlée or apple and dates bread pudding. Atlanta Journal-Constitution calls Verdure “a beautiful space…meant to be a destination…a place to see and be seen” while Infatuation salutes its “Pan-African menu delivering some of the most exciting flavors in the city.” Well, we’re plenty excited to visit here and to learn more from Chef Sangare about the flavors and culinary traditions of the continent from which he hails.

Hailing from the Ivory Coast, Chef Jean-Louis Sangare pursued his culinary education in Paris before moving to the US. After holding the esteemed position of Chef de Cuisine at the original Le Bilboquet for 15 years (followed by an additional 3 years in Atlanta), he now serves as Executive Chef at Verdure.

Course #1 will be served family style. Courses #2-#5 will be individually plated.

  1. Summer Roasted Root Burrata

    roasted carrot, beet, parsnip, green balsamic reduction

  2. Crispy Octopus

    corn puree, green herbs, spicy pickled onion, verdure oil

  3. Safari Suya Strip Steak

    mashed potato, asparagus, ashanti pepper sauce

  4. Afriki Red Snapper Filet

    plantain, tomato concasse, caramelized onion, capers, kalamata olive, basil

  5. Apple & Dates Bread Pudding

    focaccia, granny apple custard, pastis caramel sauce, vanilla bean ice cream

Yes. All attendees must be 21+ to gain entry.

No. This restaurant is a non-BYO establishment. Outside alcohol will not be permitted at this event.
What is the event ticket cancellation/refund policy?
Tickets to our events are non-refundable. However, for emergency requests, we may allow members to transfer their tickets to friends, provided the guest ticket surcharge of $25 is paid when transferring a member ticket to a non-member. All ticket transfer requests (as well as the guest ticket surcharge) must be sent to us prior to the event. Any guests who have not paid the guest ticket surcharge will not be allowed entry.
What must I bring to the event?
Please make sure to bring a government-issued photo ID.
Can I bring guests/non-members to this event?
Yep! For this event, guest tickets are $90 + tax & tip, and you can bring up to 3 guests. Please note, guests are not allowed to attend unaccompanied by a member.
