Day 1: 5-Course Elevated Pan-Latin Tasting Series

Opened November, 2019, in Phoenix’s Arcadia district, Vecina swiftly landed amongst the upper echelons of the city’s culinary charts, earning a 2020 James Beard Semi-Finalist nod for “Best New Restaurant” as well as a Phoenix New Times’ “Best New Restaurant” Award. Chef/Co-Owner James Fox is North Phoenix–born, Le Cordon Bleu–trained, and battle-tested across local stalwarts like Zinc Bistro, The Mission, Southern Rail, and Buck & Rider. Here, he channels a Modern American, Latin-inspired point of view, shaped by years opening kitchens and even a charming globally-minded food truck with his wife, Raenee. The menu leans into mesquite and spice, with delicacies like a a Peruvian-leaning hiramasa/amberjack ceviche brightened with grilled pineapple and a coconut leche de tigre, a cult-favorite elote, and a mesquite-grilled prime carne asada ribeye glossed with chimichurri. Vecina distills Phoenix’s fearless, border-hopping spirit, and we can’t wait to learn more about it from the master himself. Join us!

James Fox

Co-Chef/Owner

Born and raised in North Phoenix, Chef James Fox graduated from Le Cordon Bleu in Scottsdale. His restaurant career had included time under Chef Matt Carter at Zinc Bistro and The Mission, as well as serving Executive Chef in charge of opening Milagro Grill, being part of the opening team at Southern Rail and Buck & Rider, and Executive Chef for the LGO Group at The Misfit. Vecina marks his first restaurant.

Do guests need to be of a certain age to attend this event?
Yes. All attendees must be 21+ to gain entry.
Does this restaurant allow BYOB?
No. This restaurant is a non-BYO establishment. Outside alcohol will not be permitted at this event.
Will this event be handicap acccessible?

What is the event ticket cancellation/refund policy?
Restaurants purchase the food for our events 14 days before the event date, at which point we are on the hook for the cost of your ticket. As such, we are not able to offer refunds (or credits towards future events) for any cancellation requests submitted within 14 days of the event date. We will, however, issue full refunds for all cancellation requests submitted at least 14 days before the event date. All cancellation requests must be submitted via email to support@tastingcollective.com.
What dietary restrictions/food allergies can be accommodated at this event?
Due to the large-format nature of our events, restaurants are not able to accommodate all dietary restrictions/food allergies or make any menu adjustments based on food preferences (e.g distaste for specific ingredients/flavor profiles). This restaurant will be offering substitutions exclusively for the following restrictions/allergies: Vegetarian, Pescatarian, Gluten, Goat Milk Cheese, Milk/Cream (with the Exception of Cow Milk Cheese or Butter), Fish, Egg, Peanut. They are NOT accommodating restrictions related to the following ingredients: Butter, Cow Milk Cheese, Chive, Red Onion (Raw), Onion (Raw), Garlic (Raw & Cooked) and Shallot (Raw & Cooked). If you have any of these restrictions/allergies, please make sure to note this in your profile (in the “Event Preferences” section) either before or right after purchasing your tickets so Chef can prepare accordingly.
