Ultreia
Day 2: 5-Course Elevated Iberian Tasting Event
This Iberian-influenced eatery (so, think Spanish and Portuguese delights) opened in Union Station in 2017 and has held strong ever since, landing last year on Eater’s List of “38 Essential Restaurants in Denver” and USA Today’s “10 Best in Denver” List. Chef/Partner Adam Branz expertly sustains the vision of founding chef Jennifer Jasinski, whose Rioja restaurant became a Denver legend and who won a James Beard Foundation award in 2013 for "Best Chef: Southwest". At Ultreia, the emphasis is on pintxos - small snacks that, not unlike tapas, are popular in northern Spain and the Basque country. Typical menu offerings include ham croquettes, bacon-wrapped dates, trout escabeche, Moorish spiced ribs, crispy artichokes, and so much more - so we can't wait to dig into this evening's special menu. You’ll love the Old World charm too, with its Dutch murals and long granite-topped bar, from which flow the amazing gin tonics (no “and” is used for the Iberian version of that cocktail). “Be prepared for intriguing food and drink combinations and expect stellar service in an ambiance with European charm,” raves USA Today. Sounds to us like a perfect getaway, so we’ll hope to see you there!
