5-Course Ode To Global Street Food Tasting Event

This 2021 newcomer to trendy RiNo is the brainchild of longtime friends, fellow chefs, and restaurant veterans Forrest Bayne and Austin Hume. (Austin was general manager at Sushi Ronin in the Lo-Hi neighborhood, while Frank worked alongside celebrated chef Frank Bananno at Mizuna.) After being laid off from their restaurant jobs when the pandemic swept in, they reinvented themselves as the Chimichurri Brothers, selling their spectacular gaucho sauce at Denver farmers markets. TSR bills itself as a “mixtape for your mouth.” (Its acronym, we’ve got to tell you, stands for This Shit Rules.) The menu is full of wit and originality, from Poutine on the Ritz (hand cut fries with pork belly, Kentucky gravy, mozzarella sticks, and melted cheese) to Fried Britney Spears (friend pickles, that is) to L’il Kim cheesesteak (bulgogi marinated ribeye with kimchi and cheese whiz) to Forbidden Love (forbidden rice arancini, red curry, sweet potato, charred broccoli, and coconut milk reduction). We’re excited to discover this new addition to the Denver food scene, which 5280 hails for its “street food-inspired bites enhanced with flavor-packed accoutrements.”

About the Host:

Forrest Bayne

Co-Executive Chef/Owner

Hailing from Wyoming (but now a dedicated Coloradan), Forrest Bayne started at the bottom in the culinary world, working his way up in kitchens from prep to executive chef. He's worked at Root Down, The Populist, and working alongside Frank Bananno at Mizuno before rising to the role of Head Chef at Trattoria Stella and Executive Chef at Vine Street until its pandemic closure in 2020. During the pandemic, Chef Bayne and his friend Austin Hume launched The Chimichurri Bros., a hot sauce brand, before partnering with American Bonded to launch T.S.R.
