SRV
Day 2: 5-Course Dreaming of Venice Tasting Series
Opened in January 2016, this South End eatery has kept things fresh over the years, earning spots on up-to-date lists such as Boston Magazine’s “50 Best Restaurants in Boston” (2024), Infatuation’s “Best Italian Restaurants in Boston” (2025), and Boston Globe’s “Very Best Italian Restaurants” (2025). SRV stands for Serene Republic of Venice, as befits its status as Boston’s first Venetian-style bacaro (essentially, an osteria) and wine bar. Specializing in cicchetti (small bites), pasta made from fresh-milled flour, and made-to-order risotto, SRV pays homage to traditional Venetian food all while giving it a distinct modern twist. Here, diners find dishes like white polenta with veal and tomato-cippolini agrodolce, smoked sea trout with trout roe, mustard green, escarole, and navy bean, ravioli with summer squash, lemon, and parsley, and strozzapreti with pork sausage, cauliflower, and caper salsa verde. Marvelous desserts too like hazelnut gelato, brown butter gelato, and carrot torta with pistachio and lemon curd. “Stylish…sophisticated…delightful,” are just some of the words Time Out uses to describe this very special establishment. We’re excited to visit here, and hope you’ll be able to join us!
