Day 1: 5-Course Exotic Elegance Tasting Series
Opened in 2025 in the heart of Myers Park, this elegant eatery with French and Asian influences appeared on Axios’ 2025 List of “12 Best New Restaurants” and Eater’s 2026 List of “Best Restaurants in Charlotte Right Now.” Helming Sora’s kitchen is Chef Dorji Tshering, who was born in Bhutan, underwent French and Italian training in Sydney, Australia, and learned the detailed art of sushi from culinary legends like Chefs Masaharu Morimoto and Masa Takayama in New York. After serving as Executive Chef at SouthPark’s Baku for the last ten years, Chef Tshering is now captivating diners with a menu that features dishes like sweet shrimp with marinated tomatoes and buttermilk wasabi, venison with roasted almond, fried halibut with trout roe and morels, and spectacular desserts like strawberry panna cotta with rhubarb sorbet and basil ice cream and yuzu chocolate mousse. Hailing originally from Bhutan, Chef Dorji Tshering underwent French and Italian training in Australia before committing to learning the art of sushi from a Connecticut master chef. After honing his craft under celebrated Chefs Masaharu Morimoto and Masa Takayama in New York, he relocated to Charlotte, where he now leads the kitchen at Sora.
