Sinsa
Day 2: 5-Course Elevated Korean-American Tasting Series
Opened just this past January, this East Village eatery is the sister restaurant to celebrated Rice Thief in Long Island City, which Infatuation named one of the best new restaurants of 2024. Sinsa, which means “gentleman” in Korean, honors the traditional meals that Korean mothers served to their families but with creative modern twists. That means dishes like donkatsu au poivre, a play on Caesar salad with funky-sweet candied anchovies, and an awesome version of Southern KFC, with a crunchy, cornflake-like crust and a side of smoky gochugara ranch. And for a captivating dessert, dig into Sinsa granita, a complex shaved ice with candied pear, green apple, pink peppercorns, and dollops of date crème fraîche. This is just the kind of small, intimate, gracious, and uber-creative New York restaurants that we dream about, so, naturally, we are very excited to visit here. Hope you’ll be able to join us!
