Day 1: 5-Course Whimsical Italian Tasting Series

Opened in late 2021, this Humboldt Park eatery appeared on Infatuation’s 2022 List of “Best New Restaurants in Chicago” and this year’s List of “Best Italian Restaurants in Chicago.” At first glance, with its mismatched chairs, vintage wallpaper, and long wooden bar, Segnatore may seem like your regular old neighborhood red sauce restaurant, but that is simply not so. As Infatuation puts it, “a meal here might seem like another red sauce rerun, but will end up being a Very Special Episode of your typical wine and pasta night.” Segnatore’s menu is filled with delights, from cacio e pepe arancini to tagliatelle with a “blonde puttanesca” of calamari, garlic, capers, and olives to leek gramigna in a dry vermouth cream sauce with short rib and mushrooms to whole roasted fish or chicken—and much more. “Amid a sea of recently opened restaurants that embrace Italian cuisine, Segnatore sets itself apart by finding a balance between tradition and innovation,” says Time Out. We’re excited to spend an evening here and hope that you’ll be able to join us!

Justin Moser

Sous Chef

Chef Justin Moser holds over 10 years of culinary experience in Chicago, from his days as an opening member of the kitchen team at Trenchermen, to a stint as a Butcher at Bangers and Lace, to serving as Production Manager at Gilt Bar, to honing his craft as Chef de Cuisine at Salero. He now serves as Sous Chef at Segnatore.

Mark Cerullo

Chef de Cuisine

A graduate of the Illinois Institute of Art, Chef Mark Cerullo has been working for over a decade in Chicago's competitive culinary scene. A former sous chef at Mindy's Hot Chocolate and Charlatan, as well as a Lead Cook at Trencherman, he now serves as CDC at Segnatore.

  1. Tuna and Tomato

    amaro cured tuna, chilled tomato broth, eggplant conserva, mixed herbs

  2. Fennel Salad

    chicory, stone fruit, castelvetrano olive, pistachio, bianco dressing

  3. Crab Rotolo

    corn & crab filled pasta, poblano cream, corn succotash, mustard greens

  4. Roast Porchetta

    farro, summer vegetables, orchard fruit mostarda

Do guests need to be of a certain age to attend this event?
Yes. All attendees must be 21+ to gain entry.
Does this restaurant allow BYOB?
No. This restaurant is a non-BYO establishment. Outside alcohol will not be permitted at this event.
What is the event ticket cancellation/refund policy?
Restaurants purchase the food for our events 14 days before the event date, at which point we are on the hook for the cost of your ticket. As such, we are not able to offer refunds (or credits towards future events) for any cancellation requests submitted within 14 days of the event date. We will, however, issue full refunds for all cancellation requests submitted at least 14 days before the event date. All cancellation requests must be submitted via email to support@tastingcollective.com.
What dietary restrictions/food allergies can be accommodated at this event?
Due to the large-format nature of our events, restaurants are not able to accommodate all dietary restrictions/food allergies or make any menu adjustments based on food preferences (e.g distaste for specific ingredients/flavor profiles).
