Roots Southern Table
5-Course Nouveau Southern Tasting Event
After its debut in 2021, this Farmers Branch eatery took Dallas by storm, landing on both New York Times’ and Esquire’s Lists that year of “Best New Restaurants in America,” earning the 2022 “Restaurant of the Year” Award by Dallas Observer, and getting a 2022 James Beard “Best New Restaurant” Semi-Finalist nod. Roots Southern Table pays homage to the way Chef Tiffany Derry and Hosting Chef Te’von Johnson grew up eating in the South, where food holds the family together. Field-to-table eating was not a trend but simply a way of life – eating with the seasons, canning and preserving fresh-picked fruits and vegetables, and never letting anything go to waste. Roots is taking that tradition and elevating it to a higher plane, with signature dishes like fried shrimp & grits, sticky pork riblets, cast-iron cornbread with sweet potato butter, sweet tea brined chicken, Texas redfish, and delectable desserts like orange juice cake and passion fruit mousse. “Triumphant…full of joy…like a family reunion and the food tastes like a celebration,” raves Dallas Observer, so, naturally, we are over-the-top excited to visit here. Aren’t you?
