Rōmyō
5-Course Rome Meets Tokyo Tasting Event
Newly opened in September on Larimer Square, this is one of the most exciting additions to the Mile High eating scene in a long time. Indeed, Westword named Rōmyō to its List of “Most Anticipated Openings.” Hardly a surprise given that Chef Frank Bonnano is a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America who has cooked in the kitchens of Michelin-starred restaurants like The French Laundry and Gramercy Tavern and is the chef/owner of the perennially popular Mizuna and Luca. He also happens to be the host of the PBS show Chef Driven. Rōmyō represents the hybrid union of two of Chef Bonnano’s great loves: Italian and Japanese food. In fact, Rōmyō is grounded in the established principles of itameshi, as the Japanese call their interpretation of Italian food. Here, diners find all manner of crudos, skewers, wonderful inventions like shrimp scampi gyozas, udon carbonara, chicken katsu alla piccata, and much more, all terribly inventive but grounded in very sure culinary technique. Rōmyō is new and different and we’re eager to visit here and to chat it up with Chef Bonnano. Bet you are too!
