5-Course Modern Slavic Tasting Event
This very new (August 2022) restaurant has just been named to The Infatuation's list of "10 Most Exciting Dinner Spots in Philly." It is the dreamchild of Aleksandar Stojnic, the restaurateur who set out to create an American gathering place with touches of Eastern European culinary traditions. Stojnic arrived in Philadelphia as an exchange student a dozen years ago and got hooked on the city's diverse culture. He renovated a double-wide brownstone on Rittenhouse Square and hired the important young African-American chef Montana Houston, who has cooked at Eleven Madison Park, staged at Daniel, and returned to Philadelphia to stage for Zahav. With its curved walls, purple wallpaper, and artworks by Stojnic's mother, the noted artist Svetlana Alimpijevic, Restaurant Aleksandar is an environment to reckon with. And then comes the food. Diners rave about dishes like wagyu with romesco, chermoula, and autumn vegetables, goat cheese and mushroom tortellini with pine nuts, brown butter, and sunchokes, and duck breast with huckleberries and fried mustard greens. We look forward to our visit here and seeing how Chef Houston brings together a broad palette of flavors.

Born in Jersey but raised partially in Philly, Chef Montana Houston started his culinary career in high school. After rising through the ranks to sous chef at Jules@Market, he cooked in kitchens across New Jersey and NYC (including two Michelin-starred Daniel and James Beard "Outstanding Restaurant" Award-winning Zahav) before returning to open Aleksandar in August 2022.

- No. This restaurant is a non-BYO establishment. Outside alcohol will not be permitted at this event.
- Can I bring guests/non-members to this event?
- Yep! For this event, guest tickets are $85 + tax & tip, and you can bring up to 3 guests. Please note, guests are not allowed to attend unaccompanied by a member.
- What is the event ticket cancellation/refund policy?
- Tickets to our events are non-refundable. However, for emergency requests, we may allow members to transfer their tickets to friends, provided the guest ticket surcharge of $25 is paid when transferring a member ticket to a non-member. All ticket transfer requests (as well as the guest ticket surcharge) must be sent to us prior to the event. Any guests who have not paid the guest ticket surcharge will not be allowed entry.
- What COVID safety precautions will be taken at this event?
- At this event, we will be accommodating all requests for separate tables rather than communal seating. As per this restaurant’s policy, as well as local guidelines, we will not be requiring proof of COVID vaccination from attendees to gain entry.
- What dietary restrictions/food allergies can be accommodated at this event?
- At this event, we will be able to accommodate all dietary restrictions and food allergies except for dairy allergies.
