DAY 2: 6-Course Inventive American Dinner Series

For starters, a beautiful space and killer cocktails set Otway apart from other restaurants in Clinton Hill. And then comes the main food! Born and raised in Austin, TX, Executive Chef Ian Anderson is preserving the legacy of original chef-owner Claire Welle, who set out to create a bistro that would offer inventive new American cuisine in a warm and inviting atmosphere. The focus is on quality, making use of ingredients that are sustainable and in season, as well as quality of life for the restaurant’s staff, which may explain why Otway is such an inordinately pleasant place to inhabit for a few hours. “It’s a shame that restaurants like Otway only seem to come along once every few years or so; homegrown venues providing affordable, accessible inspiration,” says Eater. We'll be taking over the restaurant for this event and Chef Anderson will join us for a conversation, allowing you to hear his food ideas and enthusiasms.
