Nettare
Day 1: 5-Course Glory to the Great Lakes Tasting Series
Celebrating its second birthday this month (it opened in November, 2023), Nettare has quickly carved out a very special place in Chicago’s dining conversation, landing on Time Out’s “Best Restaurants in Chicago Right Now” as well as Infatuation’s 2025 “Best in West Town” List. Wales-born Executive Chef Andrew Roberts, who cut his teeth at James Beard Nominated Wickman House, The Alinea Group, and, most recently, 2–Michelin-Starred Oriole, channels a “nose-to-tail” sensibility into the restaurant’s Great Lakes–rooted pantry. Fitting then that Nettare’s menu leans hard into regional bounty, with corn riblets dusted with sumac and Calabrian chile ranch and Lake trout with Saskatoon berry vinaigrette. Keep an eye out for its inventive twists too, like pierogies with giardiniera or beef belly with charred kohlrabi. With its regional focus and confident, produce-forward cooking, Nettare feels like a loving celebration of the Midwest. We hope to see you there!
About the Host:
Andrew Roberts
Executive Chef
Originally from Wales, Chef Andrew Roberts relocated to the US from London in 2010. Finding himself most at home in the kitchen, he joined the James Beard Semi-Finalist team at Wickman House (Door County) before settling in Chicago. Starting with The Alinea Group, he grew to join 2-Michelin-Starred Oriole in 2023. He now helms the kitchen at Nettare.
