Mi Tocaya Antojería

5-Course Honoring Aztecan Ancestry Tasting Event

A Logan Square fixture since opening in 2017, this unpretentious eatery has been racking up accolades ever since, from Eater’s “39 Essential Chicago Restaurants” to Time Out’s “27 Best Mexican Restaurants in Chicago” to multiple Michelin Bib Gourmands. Chef/Owner Diana Dávila, a Chicago native who began working in her parent’s taqueria at the age of 10, has been similarly showered with honors, including multiple nominations for the James Beard “Best Chef: Great Lakes” Award and a citation from Chicago Tribune as “Best Chef of the Year.” Determined to reshape popular images of Mexican food, Chef Dávila serves up traditional favorites as well as lesser-known regional specialties, using the freshest ingredients and a fabulously complex mole recipe that is continually evolving. “One of Chicago’s most thrilling restaurants,” raves New York Times, while Bon Appetit, which named Mi Tocaya Antojería to its list of “50 Best New Restaurants in America,” says, “Dávila’s food is bright, bold, one-of-a-kind, and very easy to love.” Need we say more?
