McNinch House
Day 3: 5-Course Seasonal Sophistication Tasting Series
A true veteran on the volatile restaurant scene (having opened back in, oh, 1989) this Zagat Award-Winning eatery, ensconced in a Victorian mansion in the 4th Ward, appeared on Charlotte Magazine’s “25 Best Restaurants” Lists in 2011, 2015-19, and 2023 and on Zagat’s List of the “Best Restaurants in America.” Named to the National Historic Register, the McNinch House features a harmonious fusion of towers, wings, gables, and inviting porches, topped with an elegant eyebrow window and a distinctive three-way fireplace that serves as a focal point, connecting the foyer, library, and dining room. Within this rare environment, Executive Chef Melanie Berry brings her many years of culinary experience to a menu that features an array of classic dishes, like she-crab soup, jumbo lump crab cake, bison steak, loin of venison, duck confit, and much more. (Leave also room for the luscious fruit cobbler or maybe the inside-out whoopie pie?) “Dinner at the McNinch House should be on your Charlotte bucket list,” raves Axios: “[It's] beautiful, delicious food.” Naturally, we are very excited to visit here. Hope you’ll join us!
