Lê Madeline

Day 2: 5-Course Nouveau Vietnamese Tasting Series

Opened just this past February, this Quincy eatery offering a modern turn on Vietnamese cuisine has jumped right onto such lists as Boston Globe’s “5 Best Openings” List and Boston Magazine’s “Best in Greater Boston.” A first-generation Vietnamese-American, Chef/Owner Peter Nguyen (who has been featured in StarChefs) was born and raised in Dorchester and went straight from high school to culinary school at Cambridge’s Le Cordon Bleu. He spent more than a decade honing his skills in front and back-of-house positions in kitchens throughout the Boston area, including stints at Cambridge’s acclaimed tapas restaurant Little Donkey, where he worked under James Beard Award-Winning Chefs Ken Oringer and Jamie Bissonnette. At Lê Madeline, he is serving up inventive dishes like Tôm Hùm Rang Me (fried lobster roll on a warm buttery brioche with tamarind), Bánh Mì Tủy Xương (roasted bone marrow, toast, chicken liver pate, pickles), and Gỏi Vịt (pan-seared maple-brined duck breast salad with banana blossoms, cabbage, and crisps). Time Out calls Lê Madeline “" stunning success” while Boston Magazine calls it “destination-worthy.” So, naturally, we are pumped to visit and to hear all about Chef Nguyen’s food ideas.
