Hugo's Seafood Bar

Day 2: 5-Course Oceanic Extravaganza Tasting Series

Opened at the very end of 2024 in the Bishop Arts district of Oak Cliff, this Mexican eatery hopped right onto Eater’s List of “Hottest in Dallas” and Paper City Magazine’s List of “Best New Dallas Restaurants.” Chef Hugo Galván, born and raised in the picture book town of San Miguel de Allende, earned his culinary stripes working in his home country before moving to Big D and opening Café San Miguel. He followed that with a Grand Tour of Europe, further honing his culinary skills, and then returned to Texas to open Hacienda San Miguel in Fort Worth. Then, after collaborating with Chef Stephan Pyles at Flora St. Café, he became a much in-demand restaurant consultant. Now, at Hugo’s Seafood Bar, he is delighting diners with amazing tostadas (crab & avocado or tuna), chargrilled oysters with cilantro butter, lobster & crab croquettes, and much more. “Fresh ocean fare with creative twists…it’s already created quite the buzz,” says Dallas Observer. We’re excited about this event and look forward to chatting with Chef Galván and hearing more about his food ideas. Join us!

About the Host:

Hugo Galvan

Co-Chef/Owner

Born and raised in San Miguel De Allende, Chef Hugo Galvan first honed his craft at Cabo San Lucas before moving to Dallas to open his own restaurant, Cafe San Miguel. In 2015, Chef Stephan Pyles tapped him to assist with the opening of Flora St. Cafe. He then went on to work at several iconic Dallas restaurants, such as Revolver and Carte Blanche, before opening his newest restaurant, Hugo's Seafood Bar.

Do guests need to be of a certain age to attend this event?
Yes. All attendees must be 21+ to gain entry.
Does this restaurant allow BYOB?
No. This restaurant is a non-BYO establishment. Outside alcohol will not be permitted at this event.

What is the event ticket cancellation/refund policy?
Restaurants purchase the food for our events 14 days before the event date, at which point we are on the hook for the cost of your ticket. As such, we are not able to offer refunds (or credits towards future events) for any cancellation requests submitted within 14 days of the event date. We will, however, issue full refunds for all cancellation requests submitted at least 14 days before the event date. All cancellation requests must be submitted via email to support@tastingcollective.com.
What dietary restrictions/food allergies can be accommodated at this event?
Due to the large-format nature of our events, restaurants are not able to accommodate all dietary restrictions/food allergies or make any menu adjustments based on food preferences (e.g distaste for specific ingredients/flavor profiles). This restaurant will be offering substitutions exclusively for the following restrictions/allergies: Pescatarian, Milk/Cream-Based Dairy, Mushroom, Shellfish. They are NOT accommodating Vegetarians or restrictions related to the following ingredients: Chive, Garlic (cooked), Butter, Red Fish.
