Hillside Farmacy
5-Course Farm-to-Fork Tasting Event
Surviving for 13 years in the restaurant business, especially with a pandemic thrown into the mix, is no small feat, but this East Austin eatery (situated in a landmark building that was home to one of the few 1920s drugstores to be owned and operated by an African American pharmacist) has become a real hub for its vibrant neighborhood. Hillside Farmacy, which USA Today named to its 2022 list of “10 Best in Austin,” embraces the farm-to-table ethos that is at the heart of everything Chef/Owner Sonya Coté does. And she does a lot, from competing on Food Network’s Chopped to running two other restaurants, Store House Market & Eatery and Eden East Farm. With a background in art and graphic design, she remains ever the artist, approaching each culinary opportunity as a canvas. Expect classic crab cakes, peerless mac ‘n cheese, melty brie & oyster mushrooms, crispy brussels sprouts, rancher’s pie, and a crazy good roasted chicken breast served with chevre, butternut squash, and farro. Infatuation salutes Hillside Farmacy’s “ridiculous amount of charm” and says, “This place is our go-to for comforting and consistent food, in a cool yet unpretentious environment.” See you there!
