Day 1: 5-Course Tribute to DC’s Diversity Tasting Series
Opened in the fall of 2025, this innovative eatery is nestled into the lower level of Manifest 002, Union Market’s sleek members club. Here, Executive Chef Rock Harper, a 2023 Semi-Finalist for a James Beard “Best Chef-Mid Atlantic” Award and the winner of the third season of Gordon Ramsay’s Hell’s Kitchen, works his magic. (Chef Harper is also the founder of the popular Queen Mother’s Fried Chicken, which he created as a tribute to his mother, Carole Harper.) At (h)ours, he is serving up what Infatuation describes as “contemporary soul food infused with flavors from around the world.” Tuna crudo meets chow-chow while Bolognese over bucatini is infused with Ethiopian spice. Diners rave over Iberico Secreto, a pork shoulder in a sweet marinade, while the buttermilk fried plantains served with a side of pinto bean paste is like a savory version of churros. Resy hails the “delicious food and beverages all in one vibrantly modern space.” And after dinner, maybe saunter into Manifest 002’s barbershop or clothing boutique? It’s the definition of a fun night out!

A graduate of Johnson & Wales, Chef Rock Harper held positions at Café Calliope, Burke Station Restaurant, Planet Hollywood, BET on Jazz Restaurant, and B. Smith's prior to joining in the third season of Hell's Kitchen in 2007. After his win there, he opened Queen Mother’s Fried Chicken inside Ghostline in 2020 and Hush Harbor in 2025. In 2023, he was named a Semi-Finalist for a James Beard “Best Chef: Mid Atlantic" Award.
