Good Catch

5-Course Gulf Coast Infused Thai Tasting Event

Opened this past February in St. Bernard, this Thai seafood bistro is the latest creation from Chef Aom Srisuk and her husband Frankie Weinberg, professor of international studies at Loyola University. This dynamic duo gave the Crescent City the popular Pomelo, and now Good Catch has vaulted right onto Eater’s List of “Hottest New Restaurants in New Orleans.” Featured on StarChefs, Chef Srisuk is a native of Ayutthaya, the ancient capital of Thailand, where she grew up cooking in a variety of restaurants run by her family. At Good Catch, she is turning out dishes that show the influences of all four regions of Thailand, like clay pot glass noodles with gulf shrimp, seafood tom yum ramen, jumbo lump fried rice, and seared scallop green curry, all served up in a modern, airy environment with soft lighting and rattan accents. OpenTable says that Good Catch “brings together the best flavors of the East with the best of the Big Easy.” We are excited to visit here, to chat with Chef Srisuk, and to find out more about the culinary culture of her homeland!
