Gigi's
Day 2: 5-Course Nouveau Vietnamese Tasting Series
Opened in late 2024, this exceptional Asian-American wine bar on Divisadero Street hopped right onto Eater’s List of “Best New SF Restaurants.” Here, Executive Chef Tu David Phu (who honed his skills in such renowned establishments as New York's Michelin-Starred Daniel and San Francisco's 2-Michelin-Starred Acquerello, and whom the San Francisco Chronicle previously named a “Rising Star”) is tantalizing diners with creative fare like phô mai (cheese tarte with mango, matcha, and honey), tiger shrimp bao with gochujang aioli and salsa verde, wagyu dog with egg, scallion, furikake, kewpie, and unagi sauce, and garlic noodles with truffle cheese, oysters, shiitakes, and fried egg. “An unusual delight” is how 7x7 characterizes this NoPa hot spot, while the Chronicle calls it “playful…a love letter to Asian American identity.” Well, needless to say, we’ll have some of that!
