Geist
6-Course Big Easy Inspired Dinner Series
This newish (March 2018) Germantown eatery won Nashville Eater’s 2019 Award for “Design of the Year.” No surprise, as the renovation of this 118-year-old blacksmith shop, which is on the National Register of Historic Places, took three years to complete. All that effort was well worth it, however, as the brick walls, hardwood floors, exposed wood ceilings, and brass bar make for a stunning environment. And then there’s the food. Chef Seamus Rozycki has been cooking in professional kitchens since the age of 15, with eight years spent at such nationally acclaimed New Orleans-based restaurants as La Petite Grocery, Toups South, and Emeril’s Delmonico. Nashville Scene salutes Geist for “beautifully composed plates featuring seasonal ingredients focused on bold flavors and earthy comfort food classics.” Dishes like shrimps and grits, duck and dumplings, and house burrata could well turn up on the menu when we take over Geist for the evening, and Chef Rozycki will be on hand to answer your questions and discuss the splendors of Southern cooking.
