Fish Shop
5-Course Ocean's Bounty Tasting Event
As the name suggests, this East Austin eatery which opened just this past July, specializes in seafood, though the culinary forces at the helm are broadly talented. Chef/Partner Justin Huffman, an alum of Uchi and Uchiko who also served as the Executive Chef at the ever-popular Justine’s, joins forces with his wife Nicole Rossi to bring the city a perfect neighborhood spot, one featuring fish and chips, crudo plates, oysters, Dungeness crab rolls, lobster toast, pan-seared branzino, and much more. For those who followed Chef Huffman’s Le Beef Burger pop-up, rest assured that his celebrated “super-juicy-burger” is also on the menu Know, too, that he has cultivated relationships with fishing contacts in the Bay Area and Los Angeles, promising a supply of West Coast delicacies. Texas Monthly salutes Fish Shop as “the newest hip spot,” singling out the chips as “the best we’ve had on this side of the Atlantic” and hailing the honey chess pie with a sprinkling of sea salt as “the perfect finish.” We’re eager to try out Fish Shop and to chat with our hosts about their vision for their new restaurant!
