Ella Elli

6-Course Globally Inspired Brunch Event

It all began for Chicago native Chef Dan Harris when he was seven years old and helped his restaurant family organize a Thanksgiving charity luncheon. “It was the most gratifying feeling to see everyone in the dining room smiling,” says Chef Harris. “That feeling has been my driving motivation ever since. As long as the guests are happy, I couldn’t be happier.” Now, after years of working in NYC alongside legendary chefs Mario Batali at Babbo and Dave Pasternack of Esca (James Beard Award winner for “Best Chef: New York City”), Chef Harris is cooking up a storm and making his diners happy back in his hometown. Located in the heart of Lakeview, Ella Elli’s menu is mostly Mediterranean-influenced, but don’t be surprised to find Middle Eastern touches as well. Everything is scrupulously fresh and inventively flavored. We'll be taking over the restaurant for this first-ever CHI brunch event, and Chef Harris will be in and out of the kitchen to take your questions, tell his story, and share his food inspirations.

He moved back to his native Chicago in 2013 when he joined the Francesca's Restaurant Group leading kitchen operations for new concepts, Davanti and DiSotto, before taking over the kitchen at Ella Elli.
