5-Course Southern Style Tapas Tasting Event

Opened in July 2021, this hip cocktail bar on Nashville’s historic Jefferson Street is the brainchild of the team that brought you the popular Slim + Husky’s Pizza, the first black-owned eatery on Broadway, which Eater Nashville named to its list of Best Downtown Restaurants. Located in the old Garden Brunch Café building, EC&MG is a sort of modern speakeasy that invites you to move right in. Here, you’ll find local artwork and a tapas-inspired menu that approaches Southern favorites in new and inventive ways. Executive Chef Malissa Burton turns out dishes like southwestern egg rolls with cheddar, corn, tomatoes, and green chilies, smothered salmon sliders, buttered cornbread with blackberry jam, sweet potato fries tossed with cinnamon, pumpkin spice, brown sugar, and chipotle, and awesome chicken wings in four varieties. We are excited to visit EC&MG and talk to its creators, hearing about their approach to food and their vision of their restaurant as a total sensory experience.
