Darkalino's

5-Course Whimsical Italian Tasting Event

Opened this past July in Pioneer Square, this casually chic Italian eatery from Marcus Lalario, the multi-hyphenate entrepreneur whose nickname is Darkalino, jumped right onto SeattleMet’s “Best New Restaurants of 2023” List, the Seattle Times’ “40 Best Openings” List, and Infatuation’s “Best New in Seattle” List. Located inside the former iconic space of The London Plane, there are still grand pillars, floor-to-ceiling windows, expanses of exposed brick, and now an open kitchen and sleek, tiled bar. Within that environment, Executive Chef Connor Cronin is turning out exceptional appetizers like carrot tartare with crushed hazelnut and tarragon, meatballs, caponata, or roasted cauliflower with pine nuts and bagna cauda, and pastas, which are king here. Whether it’s ragu, pesto, aglio e olio, or the pasta alla amatriciana with guanciale, chile, onion, and tomato conserva that is fast becoming a destination dish, everything is fresh and lovingly prepared. “The food here is great,” raves Infatuation, and if there’s one thing that we—and the rest of the world—love, it’s great Italian food!
