Cafe Lolo

Day 1: 5-Course Farm-to-Fork Tasting Series

Opened this past March in the Summit neighborhood in Capitol Hill, Café Lolo jumped right onto Eater’s List of “Best New Restaurants in the Seattle Area” and Infatuation’s “Hit List.” This exceptional eatery is a collaboration from Chefs/Co-Owners Alex Halmi, a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America, his wife Leah, a graduate of the Apicius International School of Hospitality in Florence, Italy, and Brett Bankson, an alum of Three Sacks Full. Together, they have developed an innovative menu with dishes like fava bean toast with rhubarb and marinated radish, smoked salmon rillettes, charred broccolini and nectarines with anchovy confit, casarecce (scroll-shaped pasta) with pork sausage ragu, and crazy good desserts like buckwheat sponge with roasted cherries, sweet corn upside-down cake, and caramelized apricots with rye meringue. Let us also mention the exquisite Russian fable-inspired murals from the 1930’s that adorn the walls. We’re really excited to visit Café Lolo and to hear the food ideas of this dynamic team. Join us, won’t you?
