5-Course Levantine Luxury Tasting Event
Opened last November in Oak Lawn, this Lebanese eatery from Chef/Co-Owner Mo Kamal (who along with sister Zeina gave Big D the beloved Open Sesame Grill a few blocks away) jumped right onto Eater’s List of “Best New Restaurants in Dallas” and Paper City’s List of “5 Buzzy New Openings.” Babel is a modern Mediterranean gathering place where timeless elegance meets coastal warmth and where diners find dishes based on treasured family recipes. Consider basil hummus with beef and pine nuts, shrimp muhammara with roasted bell pepper and walnut dip, the delectable beef dumplings known as shish barak, chicken tawook, lamb stuffed ravioli, whole branzino, and beautiful desserts like pistachio baklava cheesecake and almond and honey cigars. “The best Lebanese dips in Texas…excellent,” says D Magazine. This is a cuisine that is outstanding and not overexposed, so we are very excited to visit here, to chat with Chef Kamal, and to find out more about the food of her heritage.

Chef Mo Kamal opened Open Sesame in 2017, marking his first restaurant after a decade plus spent in the restaurant industry. Dedicated to introducing Lebanese cuisine to Dallas diners, he followed the success up with Babel in November 2025.

Additionally, Babel will only be accommodating certain dietary restrictions/food allergies, and they are unable to make menu adjustments based on distaste for specific ingredients/flavor profiles.
