Amá
Day 1: 5-Course Elevated Pan-Mexican Tasting Series
Opened in 2025, this elevated Mexican eatery appeared on Food & Wine’s 2026 List of “20 Reasons to Visit Fishtown” and Philly Mag's List of “50 Best Restaurants.” What’s more, Chef/Owner Frankie Ramirez, a native of Mexico City, was named a 2026 James Beard Semi-Finalist for “Emerging Chef” and was a 2025 “Best Chef” Winner in aforementioned Philly Mag. The seasonal menu features hand-pressed tortillas and dishes inspired by the six main culinary regions of Mexico, which include the Yucatán Peninsula, the Pacific coast, northern Mexico, central Mexico, the Gulf of Mexico, and the Baja region. Diners are raving about the carne asada, the grilled oysters in dry aged beef tallow and caramelized onion, the wood-fired Caesar salad, wood-fired pulpo, the lamb neck birria, and so much more. Philly Mag says, “this gorgeous, modern Mexican restaurant hit Philly like a tornado [with] a vision of how traditional and the modern intersect, and a delicious look at where Mexican cuisine is headed.” We can’t wait to visit Amá and to chat with Chef Ramirez about his food ideas. Put it on your calendar!
About the Host:
Frankie Ramirez
Chef/Owner
Chef Frankie Ramirez began cooking in kitchens when he was just 17 years old, though it's his time at Morimoto and LMNO, in addition to Park, that he most credits to honing his craft as a chef. In 2025, he opened Amá, and was swiftly named a Philly Mag "Best Chef" Winner ('25) and James Beard Semi-Finalist for "Emerging Chef" ('26).
