DAY 1: 6-Course Nouveau American Dinner Series
Eating at this recently opened (April 2017) Congress Park restaurant is akin to an around-the-world tour, with dishes inspired by the cuisines of Italy, Portugal, India, and Mexico alongside classic American fare. Executive Chef/Owner Jeff Osaka, whose Osaka Ramen and Sushi-Rama restaurants in the RiNo Arts District are immensely popular, first made a name for himself with Twelve, a restaurant inspired by the changing seasons. That seasonal ethos is much in evidence at 12@Madison, with a menu that features rabbit rillettes, hamachi sashimi with yuzu, English pea and vanilla soup, black pepper spätzle, and a quinoa congee, among other delights. 5280 salutes 12@Madison for “transforming classic dishes into lovely expressions of their essences” and describes it as “neighborly in warmth, ambitious in scope, and playful but disciplined.” We are excited to be taking over the restaurant for the evening, and Chef Osaka will be on hand to answer your questions and discuss the global nature of his culinary vision.
