About

Opened way back in 2001, this Cap Hill eatery is still going strong, earning a place on Eater’s List of “20 Denver Restaurants That Have Stood the Test of Time.” What’s more, its mastermind, Frank Bonanno, is a multiple James Beard nominee for “Outstanding Restaurateur” and our hosting chef, Executive Chef Michael Dunning, was named one of FSR Magazine's "40 Under 40 Rising Stars" in 2026. Mizuna is a neighborhood institution that elevates American cuisine with French cooking techniques. Here, with diners feast on taste good/feel good food, from lump crab cake with remoulade relish and celery root puree to Périgord truffle risotto, fig miso black cod with soba noodles and brown buttered mushroom bouillon, beef Wellington, confit duck with parmesan polenta, and sublime desserts like warm chocolate cake with hazelnut brittle and roasted banana ice cream and burnt orange custard with black tea caramel, almond crumble, and toasted vanilla ice cream. And then, of course, there is Mizuna’s legendary, don’t miss lobster macaroni & cheese. Eater salutes Mizuna for its “elegance with an edge,” while Westword says “it never fails to satisfy.”
