Opened last December, this Mexico City-inspired North Beach eatery jumped right onto Infatuation’s 2026 List of “SF’s Spots of the Summer.” Executive Chef Melissa Perfit, who was born in Australia but raised in Florida, was working toward a degree in media production and film when she fell in love with food and cooking. She swiftly enrolled in California Culinary Academy and honed her craft at such hot spots Bar Tartine, Charles Phan's Hard Water, and, in 2014, took over the helm at Bar Crudo as Executive Chef. (She was also a Season 15 Top Chef contestant.) Her menu at Equal Parts features signature dishes like tomato and nectarine salad with white miso, roasted beets and carrots with yogurt and pistachios, Mt. Lassen trout, roasted octopus, roasted beef bone marrow with onion jam, and roasted lamb ribs with tomatillo mint sauce. Great desserts too, like vanilla panna cotta with mango and passion fruit and dark chocolate mousse with fleur de sel, olive oil, and toasted bread.
