About

Opened a year ago this September right near Rittenhouse Square, this exceptional Japanese eatery and bar that draws inspiration from izakayas, kissatens, konbinis, and yoshoku cuisine hopped right onto Bon Appétit's List of "9 Must-Visit Restaurants to Try" and Eater’s List of “Best New Restaurants in Philly.” Chef/Owners Jesse Ito and Justin Bacharach, who have helmed the program at the popular Royal Sushi and Izakaya, are delighting diners with inventive dishes like nasu dengaku (broiled eggplant with sweet miso glaze), wafu spaghetti & meatballs, katsu curry, tonteki (grilled Iberico pork secreto with soy apricot glaze and miso brown butter sauce), and saba shioyaki (grilled Norwegian mackerel with ginger and daikon), all served up in a one-of-a-kind ambiance of vibey neon lights and vintage Japanese movie posters. “You can have a fantastic meal at Dancerobot,” reports Infatuation. “A lineup of Japanese comfort food unlike anything else in the city…authentically Philly in its coolest incarnation.”
