Opened just this past May in the heart of Kendall Square, this Italian taverna from restaurateur Daniel Roughan, who also runs the esteemed Source in Harvard Square, hopped right onto Time Out’s List of “29 Best Restaurants in Boston.” Executive Chef Brian Kevorkian, an alum of the illustrious 3-Michelin-Starred Eleven Madison Park, has devised a menu that features such dishes as salumi and formaggio boards, small plates made for passing, house-made pasta, wood-fired pizza, and mains that run from whole grilled fish to a chicken parm with real presence. This is the long, happy dinner Italy invented. And as to the name of this establishment, Alice (where we'll actually be doing our event) is an homage to the owner’s grandmother, while Monarch is the downstairs speakeasy where exceptional drinks and desserts are served.
