Russet
DAY 2: 6-Course Harvest Inspired Dinner Series
The Rittenhouse Square neighborhood is smitten with Russet, an intimate farm-to-table restaurant that Chefs/Owners, and husband and wife, Andrew and Kristin Wood opened in 2012 in a gracious 1800s-era brick brownstone. Chef Andrew developed his skills at Le-Bec Fin in Philadelphia and then at Radius in Boston, where he met his future wife and pastry chef, Kristin. The couple soon relocated to Chicago and ultimately moved to Napa Valley, where they worked at Quince in San Francisco, solidifying their commitment to sustainability and local sourcing. That commitment has only deepened at Russet, as they have developed close associations with a number of family farms in the area. In fact, the Philadelphia Inquirer says, “The farm-to-table movement has become common. But few restaurants live the notion quite as thoroughly as Russet.” We will be taking over the restaurant for this event and Chefs Andrew and Kristin will discuss their relationships with farmers, with food, and with diners.
