DAY 3 - 1st Seating: 8-Course Izakaya Inspired Feast

Oka is where Chef John McCarthy gets to celebrate one of his favorite culinary formats: Izakaya. For those of you who are unfamiliar with Izakaya, think of it as Japan's version of Spanish tapas. Chef McCarthy’s take on Izakaya favors the inventive over than the traditional, which is to be expected given his professional experience. Prior to going off on his own, he cut his teeth in the kitchen at wd-50 where he rose the ranks to become Chef Wylie Dufresne's research and development cook (check his full bio below). We'll be taking over the entire restaurant for this event and Chef McCarthy, who also happens to be a certified sake sommelier, will be coming out of the kitchen to introduce his food, share stories, and participate in a Q&A during dessert!
