Memories Of Guadalajara Tasting Event

New York - November 7th at Cruz Del Sur

This new restaurant just so happens to be located literally right down the street from our old office – back before COVID arrived stateside and having an office was a thing! Needless to say, we were hit with a tsunami of incredible memories upon arriving on-site. And, once the event kicked off, the good vibes just kept coming! The powerhouse team at Cruz Del Sur served up a truly beautiful 5-Course menu for us (just scroll down to the photos and you'll see what we mean) that showcased the restaurant's inventive Guadalajara-inspired cuisine, and Chef/Owner Hugo Orozco came out of the kitchen throughout both seatings to introduce each course and share stories about his culinary heritage. There were by no means any "duds" on the menu, but, as always, some of the courses were bigger hits among members than others. Below are the top three courses, as rated by guests on their feedback cards:

1st Place:  Duck Pozole Seco with hominy, oregano, dry chiles, and toasted tortilla

2nd Place:  Jericalla with burnt custard, cinnamon, and buñuelo

3rd Place:  Torta Ahogada Duo with poached shrimp, pork carnitas, tomato broth, chipotle crema, and sourdough
