Contemporary Taiwanese Dinner Series

Washington, DC - March 27th at Maketto

We were particularly excited for this event series, as it's not every day we get to collaborate with a chef that has THIS impressive of a resume. Maketto's Executive Chef/Owner Erik Bruner-Yang is without a doubt regarded as one of DC's brightest culinary stars, having earned numerous James Beard nominations in his young career including "Rising Star Chef" and "Best Chef: Mid-Atlantic." Needless to say, expectations among the 80+ members that turned out over the course of two seatings were through the roof. Based on attendee feedback, Chef Bruner-Yang met those expectations and then some! Food aside, we saw a lot of comments on the feedback cards about how eloquent and sincere Chef Bruner-Yang was as a speaker; particularly as he spoke to how much he values supporting the neighborhood his restaurant supports. Below are the top 3 courses as rated by attendees on their feedback cards:

1st Place: Roasted Red Pork - with green scallion, steamed buns, local vegetables and ferments

2nd Place: Steamed Branzino - with mushroom chimichurri and wild green salad

3rd Place: Strawberry Ice Cream Cake - with matcha and lemon
