Nouveau Mexican Brunch Series

New York - October 28th at Lalito

80+ members and their guests filled up Lalito for this 2-Seating Nouveau Mexican Brunch Series with Chef Gerardo Gonzalez. This was our first brunch series with Chef Gonzalez, but it wasn't our first event series with him, as we had previously hosted a dinner series at the restaurant. So, we knew our members were in for a treat with this one. Chef Gonzalez crafted an incredible 9-Course experimental menu for us filled with lots of new creations he'd been testing out. And, he decided to serve each course individually plated rather than the family-style serving our members are used to. We must admit, the individual plating was a fun change of pace! Member feedback was pretty stellar across the board for this series, but there were definitely a few courses that stood above the others for both seatings. Below are the top 3 courses from each event as rated by attendees on their feedback cards:

 

1ST SEATING

1st Place: Smoked Pulled Pork - with coconut grits and carrot salsa

2nd Place: Olive Oil Cake - with ricotta, thyme, and grilled figs

3rd Place: Bread Pudding French Toast - with ube, persimmon, and yogurt

 

2ND SEATING

1st Place: Bread Pudding French Toast - with ube, persimmon, and yogurt

2nd Place: Smoked Pulled Pork - with coconut grits and carrot salsa

3rd Place: Smoked Cod Scramble - with crème fraîche and fennel salad
