Bistro Ember

5-Course Ottoman Opulence Tasting Event

Opened this past May, this Mediterranean-influenced eatery in Noe Valley immediately vaulted onto Infatuation’s “Best New Restaurants in SF” List. Turkish-born chef/owner Deniz Sezer started his culinary career right out of high school as a private chef on a luxury yacht, traveling to many countries and picking up many influences. His first tour of duty at a Michelin-Starred restaurant was at La Cabra in Madrid. From there, he went to the 3-Michelin-Starred Queque Dacosta in Valencia. Then he met Chef Alex Hong, the owner of the Michelin-Starred Sorrel in San Francisco. where Chef Sezer worked for two years. Now, at Bistro Ember, he is turning out dishes like char-grilled octopus with muammara, sumac chimichurri, tarragon oil, and pomegranate molasses, roasted cauliflower with red beets and labneh puree, pomegranate seeds, and toasted almonds, and lamb mutancana, slow-cooked for 12 hours and served with apricot anise puree and sour plum puree. This is food to love, and so we are very excited about our visit here. Hope to see you!
